Payment Policy

1.

how payments work

CRATE runs on a prepaid wallet. You add credits to your CRATE wallet, then spend that balance on hats, unusuals, war paint and keys across the catalog. All prices and balances are shown in US Dollars (USD). One balance covers the whole site — no per-item card entry.

2.

accepted payment methods

Wallet top-ups are made by debit or credit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard. Card details are entered on a secure, PCI-DSS-compliant checkout operated by our payment provider — CRATE never sees or stores your full card number, and the data is handled entirely on the provider's certified systems.

3.

security

Card transactions are encrypted in transit and processed under the PCI-DSS standard. Where your bank supports it, payments are protected by 3-D Secure (Visa Secure / Mastercard Identity Check). We may decline or hold a top-up if our fraud checks flag unusual activity.

4.

currency & pricing

The platform currency is USD. If you pay with a card denominated in another currency, your bank applies its own exchange rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee — CRATE does not control or receive those charges. Catalog prices may move with the live market until the moment your order is placed.

5.

when credits appear

Successful top-ups credit your wallet immediately on confirmation from the payment provider. If a payment is authorised but credits do not appear within a few minutes, contact support and we will reconcile the transaction.

6.

failed or declined payments

If a card payment is declined, no credits are added and you are not charged. A declined top-up is usually caused by your bank, an incorrect detail, or insufficient funds — check with your card issuer before retrying.

7.

wallet balances

Wallet credits are a stored prepaid balance, not a bank deposit, and earn no interest. Credits you buy via card top-up are non-transferable between accounts and are used to purchase items rather than withdrawn as cash. Proceeds you earn from selling your own items are held as a separate withdrawable balance (see below). Refunds for eligible orders are returned to your CRATE wallet — see our Refund Policy for details.

8.

withdrawals & seller payouts

Users who sell their own items on the platform accrue the proceeds (net of a 10% platform commission) as a withdrawable wallet balance. Withdrawals are requested from your wallet and paid to your verified bank card or bank account. Credits you buy via card top-up are used to purchase items and are not withdrawable as cash.

9.

identity verification (KYC)

Before your first withdrawal is released we verify your identity: full legal name, a government-issued identity document (such as a passport), residential address, and payout details. Verification is reviewed and must be approved. We may apply limits, request further information, and delay or decline payouts to prevent fraud and to comply with applicable law. Payouts are typically processed within a few business days of approval.

10.

receipts

Every top-up and purchase is recorded in your dashboard order and wallet history. You can review your transactions there at any time.
